Converting a whole column? Paste it all at once
Copy a column of kilograms from Excel or Google Sheets, paste it on the left and copy the pounds on the right back into your sheet. One result per line, in the same order.
5 values converted.
Pasted numbers like 1,234.5, 1.234,5 and 1 234,5 are read correctly whatever the option above; it only changes how the results are written. If you paste several columns, the first one is used. Everything runs in your browser; nothing you paste is sent anywhere.

How each weight unit is defined
These are the definitions the converter uses, as written in the source next to each one. Nothing is rounded before the calculation.
| Unit | Definition | In kilograms |
|---|---|---|
| Milligram (mg) | 1 mg = 0.001 g (SI prefix milli) | 0.000001 |
| Gram (g) | 1 g = 0.001 kg | 0.001 |

Weight conversion questions
How many pounds are in a stone?
A stone is 14 pounds, or 6.35029318 kg. It is used for body weight in the UK and Ireland.
What is the difference between a ton and a tonne?
A metric ton (tonne) is 1,000 kg. A US short ton is 2,000 lb, or 907.18474 kg, so the tonne is about 10% heavier.
Is weight the same as mass?
In physics, no: mass is the amount of matter and weight is a force. Kilograms, pounds and ounces are units of mass, and everyday “weight” on a scale is reported in them.
Can I convert a whole column of values at once?
Yes. Use the box under the converter: copy the column from Excel or Google Sheets, paste it on the left and copy the converted column from the right. Each result sits on the same line as its original value. A line that is not a number, such as a header, is left blank so the rows stay aligned. If you paste several columns, the first one is converted.
